James Hood has spent more than 27 years in EMS and continues to serve as a paramedic with Winterville EMS, staying connected to the day-to-day realities of emergency care while helping shape systems behind the scenes. In his role with the North Carolina Office of EMS, he works to improve EMS systems through better data, technology, process improvement, and practical problem-solving that support providers, agencies, hospitals, and the communities they serve. Outside of work, James is a husband, father of three boys, music lover, and technology enthusiast who enjoys blending his passion for innovation with a grounded understanding of what happens. He is passionate about helping EMS and healthcare systems work smarter, support their people, and create better experiences for providers and the communities they serve.
