NEMSMA Basic EMS Field Training Officer (FTO) Course
Sara Houston, MHS, NRP, NCEE
Sara is a Division Chief with Durham County EMS, overseeing the Field Training & Evaluation Program (FTEP). A Durham native with over 28 years of urban 911 and academic experience, she is a national NEMSMA instructor, a UNC Charlotte EMS management institute facilitator, and a former JEMS EMS10 Innovator. Sara holds an MHS from Western Carolina University and is a certified EQ-i 2.0 Coach. A founding member of the Foundation for Prehospital Emergency Care, she is dedicated to advancing EMS onboarding, leadership development, and prehospital research.
