Summary:

The Upstream Approach App is a simple, anonymous, offline‑capable wellness tool built specifically for first responders. It gives responders quick access to support without accounts, tracking, or clinical language.

The app includes:

Immediate support tools for stress, grounding, sleep, and emotional regulation

Peer support pathways that protect privacy while keeping communication clean and structured

Local and regional resource lists that agencies can customize without needing IT or a backend

Responder‑friendly education on wellness, burnout, and early warning signs

Optional agency customization for policies, contacts, and internal programs

The app is a PWA, so it installs on any phone, works offline, and never collects personal data. Agencies can deploy it in minutes with no accounts, no data storage, and no administrative burden.

Its purpose is simple:

Give responders private, stigma‑free tools before stress becomes a crisis, without adding work to leadership.

Objectives:

Explain the need for an upstream wellness model in responder agencies

Show why early, low‑burden support reduces burnout, turnover, and crisis events.

Demonstrate how the Upstream Approach App functions as a practical, anonymous tool

Walk administrators through the app’s core features and how it supports responders without adding workload.
