EMS Program Coordinator Update
Tonja is a seasoned EMS education advocate with 29 years of experience as a Paramedic and a proven record of advancing workforce development, compliance readiness, and instructional excellence. She holds a Master of Science in Public Safety from Capella University, a Bachelor of Science from Western Carolina University in Emergency Medical Care. Her education and experience is also complemented by specialized training in EMS education and regulatory standards. Throughout her career, Tonja has become known for being a patient advocate, caretaker and her ability to translate complex policy and operational requirements into clear, actionable presentations and tools that support educators, administrators, and state‑level stakeholders. Her work spans program audits, curriculum resources, workforce surveys, and strategic advocacy materials designed to strengthen EMS systems and elevate educational quality. In addition to her professional contributions, Tonja is blessed to be married to her husband of 29 years and mother to 2 wonderful children. Her greatest joy is her family and the life she has with them. She also leads Rooted and Rising Women’s Ministry at Glenwood Baptist Church, where her commitment to clarity, encouragement, and meaningful connection continues to shape her work.
