Joseph Zaller serves as the Director/Chief of Camden County EMS, where he led the development and implementation of the county’s first independent EMS system. With more than 20 years of experience in emergency medical services, public safety, fire service, leadership, and military service as a Hospital Corpsman, he brings a broad operational perspective shaped by work in rural, suburban, and urban environments. An experienced paramedic, Joseph has provided both prehospital and hospital-based patient care throughout his career. Prior to his current role, he played a key role in transitioning an EMS agency from an Advanced EMT-level service to a paramedic-level system. He has also served as an EMS educator and held prior roles as a Deputy Chief, firefighter, shift supervisor, training officer, and field supervisor, with a strong focus on workforce development, operational improvement, and regional collaboration in EMS.
