Summary:

Join a panel of five directors—four EMS agency leaders and one college program director—for a candid discussion on how regional collaboration can strengthen emergency medical services. Representing the North Eastern Regional EMS Administrators (NEREMSA), this group will share real-world examples of how partnership across agencies has led to meaningful projects and gains involving recruitment, cooperative purchasing, operational efficiencies, and workforce training.

Rather than presenting a one-size-fits-all model, the panel will highlight practical strategies that have worked within their region, along with lessons learned from ongoing challenges. Attendees will gain insight into how collaborative efforts can reduce duplication, stretch limited resources, and improve service delivery across jurisdictions.

This interactive session will also include audience Q&A, inviting participants to share their own challenges and explore collective approaches to issues facing EMS today. While the panel does not claim to have all the answers, it offers an open forum for exchanging ideas, showcasing successes, and building professional connections that extend beyond the session.

Objectives:

1.) Identify key strategies used by North Eastern Regional EMS Administrators (NEREMSA) to enhance regional collaboration across agencies, including approaches to recruitment, shared purchasing, and coordinated training initiatives.

2.) Describe how multi-agency partnerships can improve operational efficiency, optimize resource utilization, and strengthen workforce development within diverse EMS systems.

3.) Apply lessons learned from NEREMSA’s collaborative efforts to participants’ own organizations by exploring adaptable solutions to current EMS challenges through discussion and audience engagement.
